- Position: Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator
- Duration: 6 months (Contract)
- Location: Plantation, FL 33322
- Pay: Competitive hourly rate (W2)
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with possible voluntary overtime
Role Overview
As an SMT Operator, you will operate and maintain advanced machinery essential for assembling electronic circuit boards. This role requires hands-on technical skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup: Configure and calibrate SMT equipment for production runs.
- Component Loading: Load components into the pick-and-place machine feeders accurately.
- Production Monitoring: Ensure smooth operation and adherence to quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Inspection & Testing: Inspect circuit boards post-reflow to identify defects and ensure compliance with IPC-610 standards.
- Routine Maintenance: Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of SMT equipment.
- Documentation: Log production data, equipment settings, and maintenance activities.
- Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to 5S principles.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with SMT machines and related processes.
- Knowledge of IPC-610 requirements for inspecting boards after reflow.
- Ability to set up and adjust machines, including solder paste printers and reflow ovens.
- Proficiency in feeder loading and machine adjustments per SOPs.
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
- A reliable track record of good attendance and job stability.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Juki SMT machines.
- Machine maintenance experience.
- Programming skills for SMT equipment.
- Technical degree in a relevant field (a plus).
Education Requirement
A GED or high school diploma is essential for transitioning to a full-time position with the client.
