Job Details

  • Position: Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator
  • Duration: 6 months (Contract)
  • Location: Plantation, FL 33322
  • Pay: Competitive hourly rate (W2)
  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, with possible voluntary overtime

Role Overview

As an SMT Operator, you will operate and maintain advanced machinery essential for assembling electronic circuit boards. This role requires hands-on technical skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Machine Setup: Configure and calibrate SMT equipment for production runs.
  2. Component Loading: Load components into the pick-and-place machine feeders accurately.
  3. Production Monitoring: Ensure smooth operation and adherence to quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  4. Inspection & Testing: Inspect circuit boards post-reflow to identify defects and ensure compliance with IPC-610 standards.
  5. Routine Maintenance: Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of SMT equipment.
  6. Documentation: Log production data, equipment settings, and maintenance activities.
  7. Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to 5S principles.

Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience with SMT machines and related processes.
  • Knowledge of IPC-610 requirements for inspecting boards after reflow.
  • Ability to set up and adjust machines, including solder paste printers and reflow ovens.
  • Proficiency in feeder loading and machine adjustments per SOPs.
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • A reliable track record of good attendance and job stability.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Juki SMT machines.
  • Machine maintenance experience.
  • Programming skills for SMT equipment.
  • Technical degree in a relevant field (a plus).

Education Requirement

A GED or high school diploma is essential for transitioning to a full-time position with the client.
