Job Overview

As a Contract Hardware Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of ASIC/FPGA development. Your expertise in digital circuit design, RTL coding, and simulation will drive innovation in engineering estimates and program pursuits.


Key Responsibilities

  • Capture requirements, design ASIC/FPGA digital architecture, and perform RTL coding using VHDL/Verilog.
  • Conduct timing closure, verification, and system integration.
  • Use tools like Modelsim, Synplify, Quartus, and Vivado for simulation and synthesis.
  • Lead project design teams by breaking down tasks, planning activities, and reporting progress.
  • Recommend tools and practices for continuous improvement in ASIC/FPGA design.

Must-Have Skills

  • Proficiency in RTL coding and simulation (VHDL/Verilog).
  • Expertise in digital circuit design, timing analysis, and resource trade-offs.
  • Experience with ASIC/FPGA simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of Unix, scripting, and programming languages like C/C++ and Perl.
  • Familiarity with Git and Subversion.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in chip-level verification techniques using SystemVerilog.
  • Hands-on experience with ASIC/FPGA lab validation and advanced lab equipment.
  • Understanding of Design for Test (DFT) and manufacturability.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to document and present work effectively.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • 6-15 years of experience in ASIC/FPGA development and system integration.
